Cutbacks at Santa Clarita Criminal Court

As most of you are aware, the Los Angeles Superior Court system has just pink-slipped 300+ court clerks throughout the local court system. Santa Clarita did not avoid the cuts, as four employees were let go a few weeks ago. The next wave of cuts is expected by September, 2010, when 500+ court employees will likely be on the way out of Los Angeles Superior Courts.
Santa Clarita Criminal Court continues to operate three Criminal Courtrooms. Santa Clarita Criminal Defense Attorneys handled cases in one of three Divisions.
Division 1 continues to handle felony cases, and Divisions 2 and 3 handle the misdemeanors. This dedicated group of employees at this local courthouse have handled a tough workload under the circumstances; our hats go off to them for keeping the Santa Clarita Courthouse running smoothly.
